Always in demand. This unique genus from Madagascar develops a fleshy swollen trunk and the stems are frequently contorted. It produces carmine-rose flowers in abundance. The glossy green leaves are obovate. Slow growing, arid tropical. Not a common plant. Barely cover the seeds with a mixture of well draining soil mix with 15% coarse sand added to it (or you may add perlite instead). Provide bright light and keep warm. Moisten the soil when it is nearly dry.
